Happy weekend, all! Six days until Killjoys Season 4, so I thought it might be fun to have some discussion days while we wait. You're invited to chat with others in comments. If you're inspired from the prompt to make a longer meta post or new fanwork, please feel free make a new entry to the community to let us know.

Here is a six-minute First Look video for the beginning of the season, which appears to give a fairly clear idea of the opening situations for the characters and who we'll be seeing this season. Be careful if you're particularly sensitive to spoilers.

There was so much going on in that finale that it never once occured to me that they might do a time jump? Seriously never. So that was probably the thing I was most shocked by. So much has happened and also I want to know where Delle Seyah's baby is? They must have survived, right, since they're the genetic key to the entire Hullen invasion? They're probably an obnoxious Qreshi teenager by now.

Johnny, NO. I really hope this situation is not going to last too long because my heart can't take it. D'avin's face, aargh. The idea of Aneela being sorta on their side is interesting, for however long it lasts. I wasn't sure if they had more story with her, or if she was going to tragically sacrifice and not make it back out of the green. I am deeply curious about how Delle Seyah is going to feel about all these personality changes in her murder girlfriend.

Is traveling in and out of the green going to be a thing now, or was it a one-time adventure? I think I'd rather stay in the "real" world. It's cool that they've bulked up the supporting cast after so much attrition via tragic death, but I'm not certain if I think everyone needs to be a regular Killjoy. What was cool about Khlyen/Pawter/Alvis was how much they had their own milieus and goals. We'll see how much they're able to make the plot continue to revolve around warrants, which I thought was a bit of a struggle last year even though it also produced some of the most fun moments.

Prediction: Nobody dies. I HOPE.

Wow, that was a whole hell of a lot packed into that sneak peak! I'm wondering about the baby too. I didn't even notice Delle Seyah at all.

Everything with Johnny looks super intense. I like the idea of this being a bit of role reversal between him and D'avin from season 1. Now it's Johnny being made to do awful things.

I caught one shot of Delle Seyah looking fierce, but no others. Who knows what she's up to.

That is a good point about the reversal! If this ends in a gut stabbing I will die.

Oh damn, if Johnny hurts D'avin or Dutch holy shit. I think he'd have a ton of trouble getting past the guilt.

Considering how smart Johnny is, evil!Johnny will be TERRIFYING.

I know, me too! I'm not sure I'm happy about that. I mean, I love me some Dutch & Johnny, but I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT, DAMMIT. I'm impatient.

Also with you on wanting to find out what happened to Delle Seyah and her baby of doom. Delle was one of my favorite characters last season.

Agree, and I also enjoyed how Pree had his own thing going on with the bar and his new husband. I think I'd rather see him become a warlord/ally than a killjoy. ("On what planet were you a warlord?" HEEEEEE. Every time I remember that moment I laugh.)

Happy to see more of Zeph. Less enthused about Pip. I find him alternately entertaining and annoying... unlike Pree and Delle Seyah, whom I ALWAYS find entertaining.

Still. I AM EXCITED THEY'RE BACK.

Me tooo. I wonder what degree of flashbacks we'll get, or if they'll just walk around implying that lots of terrible, non-specific things happened.

Delle Seyah is a lot of fun and presumably still hates them all despite the brief bit of teamwork. Pip I liked in small doses, but he and Zeph were very much presented as Not Field Agent Material. I don't know if that's really changed, or they're mostly going to be doing comic relief.

NOPE. I have no idea. That is just sort of...bizarre? To me? I don't know. Hopefully it's done well? I spent most of that trailer going, "Wait...what?" Like, why is Johnny suddenly evil? What the hell happens in the green? WHY DO THESE THINGS MAKE SENSE? What possible context exists in which these things are sensical?

We've done the "and now this character is evil" plot in this show -- can we please not? Just, like you said, I hope that it's a short-term thing. I feel like this teaser was meant to drive people insane in a completely out-of-context sort of way. If not, I don't know what's going on AT ALL in this season. :/

I don't know. I'm not actually excited by this trailer. It kind of makes me want to hide. We need to watch it together on Saturday, 100%. For our sanity.

One of the actors - maybe Aaron? I forget - seemed to be describing it as a time jump. (Maybe just of a few weeks? But long enough for Zeph, Pippen, and Pree to become a functioning bounty team?) But they have to fill us in somehow, so maybe we'll get flashbacks. The Hullen got Johnny somehow, so I hope we get to know how. And that he is cured immediately, thank you.

The green is now very Star Wars Force-ish, like why is there incomprehensible metaphysical stuff all up in my space opera. I am not at all clear on what can or can't happen in it.

Aaron also gave present tense takes on being in the green, and being emotionless, and the entire meeting episode. He present-tensed everything. But yeah, I can see it being a couple weeks later, and we'll get what actually happened in the green over time. I would be okay with that?

Yeah, however it happens, there seem to be at least three timelines happening in the video. Hopefully it makes sense in context. D'avin explaining to Dutch what she's missed while in the green coma seems like it can't take more than an episode or two to get to? I am not here for Dutch being asleep the entire season. No matter how pretty a Sleeping Beauty she makes.

100% that. The trailer is supposed to pique our interest, but they're under no obligation to make the silly thing make sense. :/ I hope that all of my fears are misplaced.
