To begin at the end: nooooo Alvis! I'm not shocked because it's not like he had anything to do this season besides be pouty and attractive, but it was still horrible to watch. Bigger question, why Alvis? Is it just part of Operation: Take away everyone Dutch loves? He seems like a less than obvious place to start, but no killing the regulars I guess.

Is Delle Seyah Kendry actually right where she wants to be? She is so hard to read, but I'd hate for all that great Johnny stuff to have been part of a fakeout. You don't know me at all! Had-it-up-to-here!Johnny is my favourite Johnny. Also appreciated, Johnny with a storyline.

At the last treaty/honour system talks they had, Delle stabbed Johnny's wife? Even the most naive of characters, which Johnny isn't though everyone insists on pretending like he is, would be able to be like, nope, no honour here and you actually started that, lady.

I am with D'avin, Dutch is completely full of shit talking about how Johnny can't handle it! Of course Johnny can handle it, you just had an argument about this four episodes ago! And why are you always dumping your shit on D'avin and expecting him to carry it alone? You are lucky he loves you, Dutch!

Pree and Gared otp! The actor plays Gared's gentle giant-ness really adorably, and lol at his drunk mom. How many Reckoning Nights has Pree seen, that seems like a story waiting to be written.

idk if I care about Hullen Jesus, there, I said it. I do care about D'avin's stressed little face! I can't believe his bodily autonomy got violated, *again*.

I think Kendry is right where A'Neela wants her to be. In the last episode she told Kendry, "I need you to do something for me, and you're not going to like it." Setting herself up to be taken hostage sounds like something Kendry wouldn't like, but it's probably part of the plan.

Johnny was badass in this episode. And you're right about Dutch dumping all her shit on D'Avin. Totally unfair. Though it is totally in character, since Dutch is kind of an idiot when it comes to emotional stuff.

Pree and Gared are adorable.

I'm also really impressed with the actor who played the Hullen serial killer. She was creepy as fuck - like, Hannibal Lector levels of creepy.

Oh Dutch was acting completely in character! Though I find her blind spot about Johnny's supposed innocence weird at this point, but it's definitely canon that she has one. Maybe that big sister role is just important to her self-perception.

All the stuff with the blonde Hullen was ridiculously terrifying. I mainly know that actor from a sitcom,so it was very surprising to find out she can be so effectively threatening! Are we supposed to assume that all Hullen we've met have known where Dutch comes from? I guess so, because shared memories?

I don't think so, because Klyhen took those memories out of A'Neela's brain and put them in the remnant. Since A'Neela doesn't remember, the rest of the Hullen wouldn't, either.

Hmmn, of course. I was wondering how come creepy lady talked like she'd known, were we supposed to assume she just learned while being held prisoner?

The Hullen all know that Dutch has some connection with A'Neela since they look exactly the same, and they all know that A'Neela wants Dutch dead. I think Creepy Serial Killer learned that A'Neela is Dutch's "original source" while she was in captivity, but I don't think any of them know the specifics of her origin story. Unless I missed something, which is quite possible!

No, I think you're right. Creepy Hullen's delivery gave a funny impression about it when she was taunting Dutch but on second thought, you can't trust anything she says.

It occurs to me that since Khlyen was Hullen, he would have had to wipe his own memories to avoid the information getting reuploaded? Maybe he really didn't know about the connection when Dutch asked about it. But he knew where the information was hidden, so -- hmmn, I'm not certain what to assume on that.

Johnny trusting Kendry, that it wasn't an elaborate doublecross, was super naïve. Predictable, because he's ultimately a good guy. But so naïve.

Did he trust her, or was he just choosing to engage with the information directly in front of him? Letting her go just on a guess that it would be the opposite of what she wanted would seem equally naive. He used Zeph's equipment to give the baby a seizure or whatever, that is not an indicator of trust.

In the context that all his friends are murderous cynics I get why Johnny gets the naive label, but I don't really think he is. Pawter was naive. Johnny is earnest and not necessarily going to engage with a sociopath's dumb games, but I feel like that's different from not even being aware that there is a game? Dutch's rampant paranoia is not the only way to go imo. Dutch's rampant paranoia doesn't even have a higher success rate.

Sorry to be the Johnny Jaqobis Defense Squad. I always feel weirdly strongly about this question, hee.

I love Alvis so much and I yelled. Especially because I really hoped that Dutch was coming back for a little bit more Beast with two Scarbacks.<rimshot>

On the other hand, if we have to lose someone this season I would rather it be Alvis than Pree or his beautiful BF. When Pree was all "no, Gared, Reckoning Night is meh, the point is coming back to the person you love," I cringed. My character death radar was honed on too much Buffy, and in Buffyland, that's the kind of quote that gets you murdered in the next episode.
