Killjoys 5.04 Ship Outta Luck

Lucy and her friends must find a way to escape a maximum-security prison.

Those interviews with the Warden could’ve gone better.

Zeph! (I missed her!) I love that she left failsafes for herself!

And Turin and Pree are back! (and have their memories restored!)

Dutch breaking out of solitary with a spoon!

I knew the breakout was going too smoothly.

Yay progress on the rain situation!

I’m still not sure where they’re going with the Johnny and Dutch stuff (I’m a bit unclear if Johnny is (romantically) in love with Dutch, or if his feelings are a result of the Lady screwing with his memories), especially since Dutch’s feeling are still platonic.

If imdb is correct, it looks like Calvert is going to be showing up later – that should be interesting.

The Newcy stuff is kinda heartbreaking.

I’m surprised Team Awesome Force is still in the prison at the end of the episode.

The fact that the Quad can probably see that Westerly is being terraformed, and isn’t doing anything is horrifying (although not surprising).

I’m also wondering where the Lady and emotions stuff is going.

Yeah, I hadn't thought of that until Zeph mentioned it, but it's certainly in keeping with what we know of the Quad.

Once again the Lady (+Khlyen?) is using the Killjoys' real pasts against them. It's kind of genius.

I'm kind of fascinated by the return of playing-both-sides Khlyen, but I'm not sure what the Lady is getting out of this.

Okay, I gotta admit that this callback of Dutch being stuck with a past bounty is meaning nothing to me.

Poor D'avin! He basically thought he was crazy for a bit at the beginning, so I feel like this must be one of his nightmares.

I kinda felt like they were all kind of enjoying prison, and then D'avin went and admitted it. Weird adrenaline junkies.

The flange-y effect on the Lady's voice is freaking terrifying.

KHLYEN: You still don't understand us. Humanity's resilience doesn't come from our ability to remember. It comes from our ability to hope.

I love a good sci-fi speech about how great humans are. Interesting that Khlyen is referring to himself as a human though.

Yeah I'm finding the Dutch & Johnny & D'avin stuff highly confusing up to this point. What are we supposed to be getting from it?

Loved Zeph's failsafe and her waking up the B-team.
